Originally know as First Utility, Royal Dutch Shell brought the company in 2018 and renamed it the Shell Energy the following year. All customers were switched to renewable electricity in 2019 and the company were the first to offer smart meters to domestic customers.
First Utility was original a cut off off First Telecom.
