Ofgem is the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets, they are government department (non ministerial) and independent National Regulatory Authority.
They focus on protected the energy market, for both customers, the energy firms themselves and how they affect the environment. Their website can be found here. As an energy consumer, OFGEM are there as a secondary contact should you have made a compliant in relation to your energy service and are not happy with the suppliers response.
